I love summer. I actually claim to have been born in the wrong part of the world because where I live, summer has become mild and short. I love sun. I love water. I love fresh fruit. I love one season – summer!
Take a look at “My iPhone lately” for a glimpse into what summer has been like around here.
We were able to spend a few days at “the farm”. When I say “the farm”, I mean the farm! We are fortunate to have friends who live in the country and allow us to pop in at any time to ride John Deere’s, feast on full-fledged meals and swap stories– all at a moment’s notice.
- Black and cream polka dot blouse (Boden), the best black “work” pants I have found in years (Mexx), teal and gold watch (Six)
- Floral long sleeve tee (Joe Fresh) , grey leggings (Zara), polka dot socks (Gap Factory), hair clip (DM)
- Polka dot jean button-up blouse (Jcrew Factory), grey herringbone vest (Banana Republic), Colonel Mustard cords (Gap), brown leather flats (Aldo), world map watch (EBay)
Lake Minnewanka is a great little trail for families. The first part of the so-called-hike is paved and edges along the shoreline for perfect mountain views and colder-than-ice “toe dipping” for the Littles. We walked to the first bridge, as past the first bridge, groups of four are required due to potential bear encounters – and I have had one encounter too many!
Finding a perfect cappuccino is one of my life – or one of my daily – missions. I love a good cappuccino and I love a café with ambience. The Wild Flour Bakery and Café in Banff fit the ticket. We were able to enjoy sitting outside on the terrace and soaking up the last moments of this Alberta summer while sipping on cappuccinos and nibbling on gluten free muffins. (To the gen pop – fact: I am not celiac but rather I have a stomach condition whereby the lining of my stomach is easily irritated and does not regenerate properly!)
