I had the opportunity to collaborate with Milk and Confetti and Adorn Boutique here in Calgary this fall. Adorn dressed me in the latest fall fashion while taking into account my simplistic preferences, and my fellow bloggers at Milk and Confetti made me feel comfortable in my (post-baby, hormonal) skin. I’ve discovered amazing new brands like Part Two Danish jeans, JQ Vancouver Jewellery and this outfit pumper kimono from Gentle Fawn.
A little bit about my personal style:
1. How would you describe your style?
Casual, simple, fun.
2. What colours dominate your closet?
Grey, navy, mustard yellow, and stripes. Stripes qualify as a colour, right? And polka dots. Definitely polka dots.
3. Who are your fashion icons?
This is kind of funny. Growing up it was Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Now … hmmm …. I’m not sure. I don’t even know any celebrities these days. I’m going to have to pass.
4. Tell us about your go to outfit.
Coloured cords, a striped shirt and converse shoes.
5. Do you feel most like “yourself” in heels or flats?
Flats. Never heels. I’d be a walking accident waiting for a place to happen.
6. What accessories are you drawn to?
Earrings. I love earrings! And watches. I love a good watch.
7. Where are your favourite places to shop?
Jcrew, Boden, and Mindy Mae’s market. (Let me add, anywhere I can do online shopping and free shipping!)
8. What is your biggest fashion mistake ever?
Woof. I have a lot. I would like to take back all my orange from jr high. And skate shoes with skirts. The list is endless.
9. How has your fashion style changed since becoming a mom?
I’m a stay at home mom at the moment, so I don’t have a need to dress up and be presentable at the office like I did in my old life. I look young for my age and would therefore never wear jeans. My style has changed in that I will wear the same outfit two days in a row!
