I already have plans for the New Year.  I’m not going to do more, push more, or get more – I’m going to be more. I need a break. I think I say this every year, but I like to have a good reset come January. A time to refocus, reflect and bring everything back together so that I can get my priorities in place.

What does this look like? It looks like saying no to a lot of things. Even good things. I learnt a long time ago, that when I can freely say no, I can full-heartedly say yes. Without compulsion, obligation or regret.

  • No to spending.
  • No to wasting mornings
  • No to media
  • No to blogging
  • No to travelling
  • No to over scheduled play dates
  • No to complicated meals
  • No to life passing me by
  • No to volunteering

In saying no, I am putting my priorities back in place for my “yes’s”

  • Yes to prayer and reflection
  • Yes to undistracted time with my hubby
  • Yes to morning devotions with the girls
  • Yes to impromptu day dates
  • Yes to drop in coffee with friends
  • Yes to naps
  • Yes to enjoying my home and a few projects
  • (And yes to dealing with the cess pool of a storage room I have)

I’m looking forward to using my Wrinkle and Crease Day Planner to be intentional with my time. If you know me, this is a constant pursuit and a struggle. As a recovering perfectionist and very distracted-introverted-socializer, this is my greatest challenge. But, I gain little steps here and there. Two steps forward, one step back.

I love how this Day Planner has minimalistic design. It’s thin and compact, the pages can fold out flat, the layout isn’t cluttered and distracting. It is simple. Dates, quotes, reminders, notes. And it’s obviously super adorable and trendy.

Owner and entrepreneur of Wrinkle and Crease, Kayley,  dreams up the most encouraging little luxuries. If you know me, I love a good piece of stationary: gift tags, notepads and wall prints. But if you really know me, you know how much I appreciate writing things on paper in the form of a card. Kayley’s greetings cards are pure and simple, with room to share some handwritten love.

A few of my other favourites:

This Calgary-based creative is giving my readers a set of her Christmas gift tags and one of her 2017 Day Planners to keep you on track! What are you hoping to simplify in the new year?
